NASCAR superstar Kyle Busch is the most notable of the 40 entries that have declared their intent to compete in Tuesday night’s ARCA Midwest Tour Dixieland 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway.
Busch will be joined by some of the biggest names in Super Late Model racing including two-time CRA Super Series champion Travis Braden, two-time and defending Midwest Tour champion Ty Majeski and local elite Travis Sauter and defending winner Dennis Prunty. In addition to some of the best short trackers in the country, the event will also feature a pre-race autograph session with NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin.
Busch is returning to Wisconsin International after a nine-year hiatus. He won a 150-lap Midwest Tour event in 2007 and is looking to add his name to the list of Dixieland 250 winners. He carries momentum with him after scoring his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory of the season on Sunday at Pocono International Raceway.
The Dixieland 250 will be a 250-lap event with controlled pit stops.
Paul Shafer Jr, Austin Nason, Jonathan Eilen, Michael Ostdiek, Travis Dassow, Dalton Zehr, and John DeAngelis make up the Midwest Tour top-10 in the championship standings and have also filed entries.
Previous winners include Martin, Dick Trickle, Joe Shear, Steve Carlson and Johnny Sauter.
Front gates will open at 4pm with qualifying at 5pm. The fan autograph session will start at 6pm with racing getting underway at 7pm. The race will also have a live Speed 51 pay-per-view broadcast for $19.99.
