Layne Riggs was a late addition to the rescheduled Rodney Cook Classic at Ace Speedway but made his presence felt immediately on Saturday with a pole run in qualifying for the 140-lap event.

Riggs posted the best time of 15.727 around the 4/10th-mile circuit, which was enough to best the 15.811 set by Kyle Dudley. Dennis Holdren, Blake Stallings and Jason York completed the top-5.

The schedule originally called for a last chance race to decide the 28-car field, but as 30 cars made the trip to the rescheduled race, the decision was made for everyone to start where they finished time trials at.

The Cook Classic will pay $10,000 to win. The complete starting line-up can be found below.
